#best09 cont… December 11 The best place. A coffee shop? A pub? A retreat center? A cubicle? A nook?
Hands down, without a doubt, Best Place of 2009 – The pool at our new house. I feel the sun shining on my face, hear the laughter and splashing, taste the cold beverage, see the smiling faces and very tired Border Collie – just as I type this. Many, many an hour were spent there this summer… it is the manifestation of a life-long want… and it is GOOD.

Houston + Summer + Pool = FUN!

BigjumpPrepare for the collective sigh/groan from my fellow Houstonians that will come after I say – I love Houston Summers. There, I said it. I love it. Yes, its hot – and what I mean by hot is HOT. Like 100 degrees and 100% humidity – Hot. When it’s that hot and humid – you perspire and it doesn’t evaporate cause there is so much moisture in the air – so it doesn’t do what it is supposed to and cool you off – so… you stay hot… and sticky. Fab!Hubby (@lassberg) sat with our coffee on Saturday morning, discussing what we were going to to with our weekend and I realized its the same, cabin fever relieving conversation we had when I was a kid – only not in January.

So, my favorite thing about Houston this weekend was:

My son (who last year WOULD NOT get his face wet in the pool)  jumping off the diving board in wild abandon. That’s pure joy contained in a single moment.
