I found this article yesterday: 8 Strategies For Successful Relations With Clients

Let’s just say its very timely.

My 2 top take aways are:

I got an email call to rally the girls this morning. One of the villagers was struggling. So, I had the great fortune of having lunch with some of my favorite women today. These gals are taking a look at their lives and trying to find a way to live, work & SHINE.

Part of the conversation was “the business” side of business. We love to do what we love to do… and to make money at it… takes all the logistical pieces which are *not* always what we love to – or what we even excel at.

HorseKitten
I made this analogy, which I thought I would share here.

I say I want a Horse. I really, really, Really, REALLY want a horse. I will love this horse. She will be one of my best friends. We will ride together like the wind. I will bring her apples and she will nuzzle my nose. The powers that be say OK – let’s start you out with a kitten. I really like the kitten! Love the cute antics. Love the soft fur and snuggling – and oh! the purring! But, you know I really don’t like the feeding part. Not really good at the feeding part… just keep forgetting to feed the dang thing – that’s just not part of the kitten owning job I like… The kitten doesn’t last long. And no, there is no horse at the end of this story.

A very wise women (along with many, many of the Spiritual and/or Meta-Physical Based Finance and Abundance books I have read) said to me that when I am responsible, accountable, and grateful for the gifts I have been given, The Universe says, “Here Honey, have some more!”

Now, I will be the first one to admit that I am not perfect at Money Maintenance, or filing, or meeting with the CPA, or checking in with trademark attorney, or many of the other not so fun business tasks – I do however approach it in a different light these days. Money Maintenance for example (see, I even changed the name from “Paying Bills – which is, well, just ug!) Is no longer an arduous chore… its the thing I do to stay accountable and responsible for the gifts I have been given. Its not always easy! There are still moments when I would really, really like to stick my head in the sand and never look at our money plan (I rarely use the word budget) again. I saw a key chain once that read, “Lord let me prove to you that winning the lottery won’t change me!” Amen to that… and at the same time I have seen the statistics for Lottery Millionaires, its not long before many have spent all that money and are right back where they started from. They didn’t have the skills to be able to manage all that loot. I am honing my skills, one day at a time, so that when I am phenomenally prosperous, I will know how to stay there – and don’t worry, I believe part of staying prosperous is amazing, grateful generosity! I will certainly find all kinds of ways to give back!!! I am actually really looking forward to it… so… so mote it be.

Soup I love soup… LOVE it! and the recent cold snap has really flared up my craving. As I type this I am taking my lunch break and eating Italian Wedding Style Soup.  My mom’s favorite meal is my Tortilla soup.

So, I am adding a new category and will be spending this winter, or what little bit of cold weather we get here in Houston, trying to find my favorite soup prepared LOCALLY… that means no mass chains. I know, I know – I love the broccoli-cheese soup at Black-Eyed-Pea as much as the next person… but I am rationalizing adding this to my JJ-4-True Light Resources blog as an adventure in supporting local Houston businesses… see it’s business related, yea…

So, at the top of my list – don’t even have to think about it… I LOVE the veggie chili at Cricket’s Creamery & Caffe. And for the purposes of this adventure – chili will count as a soup – its warm, its a meal, and most importantly it comes in a bowl.

Got a Local Fav? Let me know…

Update: Woke up tickled this morning when I realized I am having lunch with The Bloggess at The Black Walnut… laid there in that half asleep place wondering where have heard of that restaurant before… so, its not really cold and I don’t really feel like soup… but I may just have to try the Tomato Basil Soup suggested by Melissa in the comments below.
