Fab!Hubby aka @lassberg aka Uncle Kranky

The love of my life, Karl.

We have spent the last 9 years building a life and a family together… and every step of the way, forward, backwards, rocky, or effortless has been amazing.

I am blessed to have him as a partner, a best friend, a soul-mate.

He is one of the best father's I know and he is truly the Greatest Daddy-Man! (just ask Z-Man)

His determination and focus on the Gold in life is inspiring.

He challenges me, empowers me, adores me, helps me to soar as a woman, a spouse, a mother, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a business owner… in all the things I do. To quote Judith Duerk

"…as if the expression of those deep feeling values from the feminine took place on a platform carefully prepared by the supportive masculine…"

I love him and I absolutely refuse to imagine life without him.

So, here's to 9 years and a 100 more!

I love you, Sweetie!

Ask Dr.Ding, Tips to Soaring, Houston, TX, Empowered WomenI know I have said it before, and I will say it many, many times again… I absolutely LOVE these amazing, beautiful, smart, passionate Houston women I am honored to call friends and have lunch with now and then!

An amazing Tip to Soaring came up the other day from Dr.Ding who talked about firing her boss…

Katie: So, how's the new job?

Ding: Oh, I had to fire my boss.

Tracy: Wait… what?

Ding: Yeah, I had to fire that one… I got a new one.

JJ: So, you quit?

Ding: No, I fired my boss and went a found new one.

All: What?

Ding: You know… the interview is just as much interviewing them as it is them interviewing you. I am just at a place in my life where the same is true of the job…

Dr. Ding does an really kick-a** job of explaining this and so much more over at this blog post >>

And though I don't have a boss these days – I am really chewing on the notion of what it would be like to fire really difficult and/or down right mean clients… just another step to living a life of courage and faith.

Well this is actually my favorite thing about yesterday – Aug. 06, 2008… The Day of Infamous Edoard.

I would have liked to post this yesterday, but with camp closed and being cooped up in the house with AK & The Z-Man (6 & 4 year olds) meant as much as I would have liked to take the day to lounge around and catch up in the Social Media world… it just wasn’t happening. I made it my goal to finish (super)hero camp concepts and then move onto kid friendly activities like making cookie bars and watching “The Princess Bride.”

Through it all Fab!Hubby (@lassberg) and I kept checking on the weather to see were we really about to get slammed by the Tropical Storm Edoard and quickly float away?

What I liked most about Houston yesterday was that Web 2.0 news we kept tabs on was the most grounded and informative news we got yesterday.

Blogs and Twitter posts were so much more informative and real than “Traditional” media outlets.
Here are 3 of my favorites:

  1. Houston Chronicle’s SciGuy: http://blogs.chron.com/sciguy/archives/hurricanes/edouard/
  2. Houston Chronicle’s Dwight Silverman: http://blogs.chron.com/hurricanes/2008/08/stormwatchers_on_blogs_and_twi.html
